Product Review: SOYJOY Bars

I have been curious about SOYJOY bars for awhile but haven't noticed them at the grocery store. When we went to help my parents move my mom packed us little snack bags for the drive back. She gave us a couple of the berry flavor SOYJOY bars. I was excited because they say they do not contain gluten right on the wrapper.
The label says that there are "No Artificial Colors, Flavors, Hydrogenated Oils or Gluten."

The bars don't look very appealing to begin with since they look burnt but I thought the berry flavor couldn't be all that bad. I really wanted to like them because they are a healthy and convenient gluten-free snack. They were very dry and bland. If you are still interested in trying them I would recommend buying just 1 or 2 and making sure you like them first. I did like the wrappers they came in but that doesn't say much for the taste. Lame, I know but I've been looking at a lot of giveaway samples at work and the wrapper stands out.

Has anyone had a better experience with any of the other flavors?

It is really helpful that you posted an honest review--thank you! I hadn't ever tried them, and thankful to have saved my money on that. Keep up the good work!

I recently tried Soy Joy again and still didn't like it. I am surprised at how small and dry these bars are. The peanut butter chocolate did not taste like the name. Instead it tasted pretty similar to the strawberry one I tried. For a wonderful gluten free high protein bar, try the ANDI bars. I have a review on my blog.

I eat Soy Joy bars quite often- the Berry flavored ones are terrible... however, the apple are quite. Still dry, but a lot better than most Gluten free protein bars. The only other gf protein bars I like are the "think" brand (Thinkthin, thinkPink, thinkGreen etc).

I HATE SoyJoy bars! I am sorry, but who puts Parmesan Cheese in a protein bar? I tried ever flavor and did not like any of them. My favorite protein bars are actually sold by private Shaklee distributors. They are called Cinch Bars. The Lemon Cranberry is my favorite. It has 10g of protein and only 120 calories. They are also available in Peanut Butter Crunch and Chocolate Decadence.

I agree with Mari - the Apple SoyJoy bars are the only tolerable ones. They actually are pretty good as far as healthy fruit snack type bars go. I also agree with her that the "think" brand bars are awesome. I have recently found the "Larabar" brand - also quite good, but they are made from nuts if you have a nut allergy.

I love Larabars, Nate is a little more picky depending on the flavors. We haven't tried the think brand yet though.
